When I was younger, I never appreciated hydration skincare lines, assuming they were basic and unnecessary. Fast forward a decade, hydration has become my skin’s best friend. I consider it an essential building block of a good skincare routine, over which I can layer on other special needs items at will. And this Spring, there are several new releases that I am currently loving. Instead of skimping over each of them, I have decided to publish a mini-series of hydration specialists over the course of the next few days. For today, I would like to introduce you to the new Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum and Cooling Gel Cream.
Clarins recently reformulated its hydration range, and renamed the line Hydra-Essentiel. The focus is on protecting the skin’s natural barrier function and reactivating self-hydrating power. Clarins has incorporated organic leaf of life extract, which naturally stimulates the expression of genes at the origin of water-retaining “sponge molecules”, system that allows skin to maintain the ideal percentages of water at all skin levels. It boosts the natural direct synthesis of hyaluronic acid in the dermis and epidermis, thereby replumping the skin naturally from within.
At the heart of the range is the new Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum is a super lightweight watery serum that quenches dehydrated skin. It absorbs instantly, leaving no trace of oiliness nor heaviness on the skin. After cleansing, dispense 1-2 pumps onto the palms, then press into face and neck. I love how my skin is instantly plumped and feels hydrated all day. The light texture makes this serum ideal for layering with other serums and moisturizers as desired.
There are 2 complementary moisturizers from this range, and I am loving the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Cooling Gel Cream. This is a crisp soft gel cream that envelops the skin in hydration, and leaves a refreshing cool sensation. It insulates skin against thermic shocks and fights against pollution, thereby preventing premature aging. This is a real pleasure to use on a hot humid day, and keeps my skin gently mattified around the t-zone, making it a great makeup base as well.
I have several more skincare ranges to introduce over the next few days. Stay tuned and check back daily to discover ways you can jumpstart your skincare routine this Spring 2018!
