Tralalaa… this Christmas Manicure of Mine!

December 22, 2014

I’ve been counting down to the day I could pop into my nail salon and get a set of gel manicure done.  Just so I can stop worrying about chips or touching up my manicure every single evening (because that’s how rough I am with my nails!).  But having gel nails meant no more swatching of nail polishes for awhile, it just wouldn’t be accurate.  And also, what design should I create?  Of course I could go plain… but where’s the fun in that?  If it’s going to be something that stays on my nails for a good 2-3 weeks, it should be FUN!  Usually, I’d have something in mind, a design that I’ve been saving up for awhile… but this Christmas, nothing came to mind.  So, after prowling tonnes of designs, and just not feeling very inspired by the run-of-the-mill caricatures of Santa, Rudolph, Olaf the snowman (along with the entire cast of Frozen that is so popular this year), even the Grinch… I pulled out about 5 different sets of manicure design inspirations, picked my own color story, consulted my manicurist…. and voila!

I’ve had these for about a week now before I had the time to sit down and compose a proper shot for today’s post… and it appears the nails have grown out quite a bit.  But i’m loving them!!!  They feel special, Christmassy without being too cutesy.  What do you think?

And what are you donning this festive season, nail-wise?

What a great Christmas nail look! I like all the different choices you made for each nail (even though I have a soft spot for snowflakes, lol)
Does it snow for Christmas there? Over here, it’s summer, so I’ve never had a “white Christmas”. (I always feel bad for all those Santas that work here, wearing that heavy suit and beard, when it’s so hot outside!)

I wanted to do mine with red and gold (since I feel I only could get away with it during this season, lol), but I felt asleep the day before I had to travel, and I didn’t have the time to do anything else afterwards.
But now I’m thinking of New Year’s eve! I still haven’t decided what I’ll be wearing, though, but as soon as I do, I’ll plan my manicure.

Hehehee… i almost wanted to get snow all over, but that’d be rather dull i thought. I contemplated something cute too, like reindeers, santa, the whole works… but it didn’t feel very me. Get red and gold nails!!! They go with every outfit!!! And show me pls!!!

No it never snows in Singapore… but we’ve been getting lots of rain. Not sure they’re the same thing though, snow is better I think. Oh gosh, poor Santas!!!! I remember going to malls when I was a kid to get candy from Santa… but they stopped doing that years ago now. I don’t remember seeing any Santas in Singapore anymore.
