Chantecaille is all about that effortless beauty, and this Fall the brand takes inspiration from the splendor of Kenya. The eyes are dressed in shimmering hues of sunset, and lips are draped in lush richness.
Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Duo in Kenya is a gorgeous purple-themed eyeshadow duo that would look beautiful on anybody. The shades remind me of pink skies at dusk and shimmering sands. I’m a fan of purple eyeshadows in general, but these surprise me because they are more complex though very subtle, hence easy to wear.
Lamu, on the right of the palette, is a soft warm-toned antique rose with a semi-sheer base filled with champagne micro-shimmers. Amboseli, left of the palette, is a medium-dark reddened plum with lilac micro-shimmers. The eyeshadows are soft and finely milled, and they float over the lids like gossamer, forgiving even on the most mature lids. When applied dry, they leave a sheer wash of color; but they can also be applied with a dampened brush for a more intense liquid-metal finish.
This is how Kenya looks on my eyes…
For the lips, Chantecaille has released a whole new class of lipsticks that are truly revolutionary. The Lip Veil is enriched with FairWild Baobab Oil that is native to Kenya, and is packed full of skin-loving vitamins guaranteed to pamper your lips. It is creamy and lust, and yet nicely pigmented and provides good coverage on the lips with a single swipe. I was surprised by the longevity of the Lip Veil, lasting through a meal and fading slowly throughout the day.
There are 12 shades in total, but only 8 are available in Singapore at the moment. And here are some swatches to help you decide. Each are single swipes, which also gives you a good idea about the intensity and pigmentation of these Lip Veils.
Some companies give a cursory nod to nature and places as part of a marketing campaign, but Chantecaille has made it an intrinsic part of the brand’s DNA. Apart from taking inspiration from the exotic landscapes of Kenya and using ingredients found in Kenya for this collection, Chantecaille is partnering with Space for Giants to preserve the safety of elephants in Africa. With only 4% of African elephant population left in existence, Space for Giants is working to end poaching and conserve the elephants’ ancient migration route across the continent. These gentle and elegant giants are very dear to my heart, which makes these Chantecaille Lip Veils even more precious to me!
Here is a makeup look featuring Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Duo in Kenya on my eyes, and Lip Veil in Elderberry on my lips.
