Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tisse d’Automne

August 18, 2015

I am rounding up my review of the Chanel Les Automnales Collection for Fall 2015, everything is killer in this collection, but the one that I am loving for some moody fall drama, is the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tisse d’Automne!

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tisse d'Automne

Chanel Tisse d’Automne is the latest eyeshadow quad to join Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres family, and it is a smokey palette of rich Fall colors.  This was one that I thought I’d pass on (in favour for the pretty engravings of the Entrelacs palette), but as it turned out, I fell in love with Tisse d’Automne immediately upon swatching.

Tisse d’Automne is a warm-toned palette comprising of greens and browns.  An unlikely color-theme for me, but somehow Chanel wove some magic in there to create a gorgeous palette.

The shades, swatched left to right in clockwise direction starting from the top left, are:

And this is how it all looks on me:

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tisse d'Automne Eye look

For this eye look, I first applied a sheer layer of the shimmery pink all over my lid as a base, thereafter, I applied the bronze on two-thirds of my lid. On the outer third, I applied the olive green, then darker the outer-v using the dark sooty khaki.  And as a finishing touch, I patted more of the shimmery pink over the center of my lid.

Tip: As I have relatively small eyes, a little trick that I’ve been favouring lately is to elongate and emphasize by extending the outer tip of my upper lash line, and then lining most of my lower lash line.  I don’t go all the way into my tear duct as that actually makes my eyes look smaller, beadier.  Instead, I fill in the gap with a bright shimmery highlight shade to make it pop!

You’ve already had a glimpse of the final look here, but here’s another for your zooming pleasure!

In this look, I’m wearing Tom Ford Complexion Enhancing Primer (review coming soon) underneath Shu Uemura Skin:Fit Foundation on face. Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tisse D’Automne on eyes, Chanel Joues Contraste Alezane on cheeks, and Givenchy Le Rouge A Porter in Beige Floral on lips. Finished with Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo on nose ridge, chin, and cheeks.

And this completes my coverage on Chanel’s Fall 2015 Les Automnales Collection!  I love pretty much everything in the range, and particularly I think Tisse d’Automne is a wonderful palette for some dramatic fall colors.  I also loved the Entrelacs Palette which is a very different take on fall… softer, more everyday friendly.  The Joues Contraste Alezane blush which I’m wearing here is mad love, such a beauty that one should not miss out on.

Have you picked up anything from this collection yet?

  1. If I were to get only one eye product this season it would probably be either this one or the red Suqqu Palette. What a gorgeous combination, I love how bronze they look on you too. I will try and recreate your look xox

This is autumn in a palette and is one of the most beautifully conceived color schemes I’ve seen in a long time. Because the two neutrals have red undertones, they really punch up the effect of the greens (color wheel opposites 🙂 ). I also like having the two neutrals to compliment the gorgeous greens because it makes for a very versatile palette. I can keep things basically neutral with just a hint of green or I can create a depth of forest smokiness that is quite alluring. The deep green shade does seem to be a bit drier and more powdery than the other colors, but I have had no problem with application or blending. I particularly like it smoked over the Crayon Yeux in Feuille which is a blackened green that is perfection with this quad. For me, Tissé D’Automne is the star attraction in this collection.

Hi Eileen, thank you so much for your very thoughtful, and insightful views on the palette! I am inspired to play with this palette more in the ways you described, especially since we are skin tone twins. I’m still holding off on those crayon yeux just because it takes me forever and a day to finish any liners, and they’re permanent… ;P

  4. Hey Linda, thanks for showing us such a pretty quad and pretty look! This is one of the pieces I am eyeing from the collection. Khaki stuff always has my name on it! I use the same technique as you do when it comes to eyeliner. I highlight my inner corners rather than lining my lower lash line all the way in. That really closes my eyes more than anything else. I used to be OBSESSED with trying to find an eyeliner that will stay on my bottom waterline, but Lisa Eldridge kind of made me understand it’s a bad idea I am not all that wide-eyed to begin with 🙂

Hi Sunny, I used to be obsessed with finding a liner that will stay on my upper lash line!! Hahahaha… . tiny hooded lids be damned! Yeah, we all learn to live with what we’ve got, and i’m so glad i finally figured things out!

This quad is the only thing that caught my eye (from the swatches) and I’m glad it’s a permanent! Now, I have 3 quads that I might purchase from Chanel. This, Tisse Rivoli and Tisse Garbrielle. However, darn! I really have no need for extra eye shadows!

Eclectic choices, Lily… I had Gabrielle and didn’t like it much. Ended up being way too grey and muddy on me. Rivoli seems like a nice choice too! But this D’Automne is a must have!
