Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême

April 13, 2015

For too long, women have underestimated the importance of a good lotion in their skincare regime.  But devout skincare aficionados know that the lotion plays an integral part in a complete skincare routine, soothing and replenishing moisture, even prepping the skin to allow optimal absorption of the products that follow.  And with all the wonderful innovations that have been going into skincare, the lotion is even more powerful than ever before, packing anti-aging and other skincare benefits.  Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême is one of those amazing lotions that I’m currently hooked on.

Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême

I have loved Chanel’s prestigious Sublimage skincare range for many years now, and every year, Chanel impresses me with an even better reformulation of at least 1 of the products from the line.  This year, Chanel has introduced a new Sublimage La Lotion Suprême which makes use of a new, proprietary magnetic water complex that promises faster and more optimal absorption by the skin.  The magnetic water complex is an integral part of the Chanel lotion formula, and is created by Chanel Research laboratories.  It acts as a magnet for water molecules, attracting and retaining them for plumper and better hydrated skin.  The magnetic water complex also organizes the water molecules in concentric rings so as to more efficiently deliver the active ingredients within the skin.

The key active ingredient throughout the Chanel Sublimage range is the Vanilla Planifolia PFA, which is a specially refined extract of the powerful botanical fruit from Madagascar which contains anti-aging benefits.  In this latest reformulation, the Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême combines Vanilla Planifolia PFA with intense Vanilla Planifolia water to improve cellular regeneration inside the skin, and forms a protective film over the surface of the skin similar to the natural hydrolipidic film that provide barrier functions.  Boosted by the magnetic water complex, these active ingredients stimulate skin renewal, to boost skin density, radiance, even tone and diminish the appearance of wrinkles.

For all its powerful benefits, Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême retains a lovely light, fluid texture that is quickly absorbed by the skin.  You may apply it after cleansing with either a cotton pad or simply pat on with your fingers.  I first started using it with cotton pads, but eventually found patting it on with my fingers to be more effective, and also more soothing on the skin.

When I first started using the Chanel Sublimage range a couple of years ago, I thought it was very lovely but perhaps not the best value for money.  But with each improvement to the range, there are a number of products that have since become indispensable to me.  Ever since I started incorporating the newly reformulated Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême into my skincare, I noticed much more radiant looking skin that is free from dullness.  I am constantly testing new skincare products, and at any point of time I am usually using products from 3-4 different brands.  However, when I received this Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême, I decided to break out all my existing Chanel Sublimage products and switch over to a complete Sublimage regime.  The very next morning, I was amazed at how much improved my complexion looked, and I don’t ever remember these same products making quite as deep an impression before Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême joined the family.

At S$178 for 125ml, Chanel Sublimage La Lotion Suprême is certainly priced on the higher end of the market.  However, for those who are looking to amp up their existing skincare routine, the La Lotion Suprême makes for a good accessible entry point to the Sublimage range and carries all of the anti-aging benefits of the Vanilla Planifolia.  Do give it a try the next time you find yourself at a Chanel counter!

Are there any lotions that you are currently loving?

Hi Linda! I am loving a good lotion, especially after taking everything off my face before bedtime. I have never used Chanel, but I loved the Dior Gentle Toning Lotion till very recently. I am now using a lotion which is much more good value for money and feels excellent on my skin, by a Greek skincare brand called Korres. It’s their Pomegranate Toner and it’s all natural ingredients; leaves my skin so soft and nourished!

Oh yes Korres!! I used to like a makeup primer from them, but they discontinued it. The line is very minimal here in singapore, they don’t carry the full range, and there is only 1 physical store, so I never get to play around with it much. What do you recommend?

I’m loving how informed you are :)! Not many people know Korres abroad! In Greece it started out as a pharmacy brand, really natural. And it took off, just because of the super natural ingredients of the products. The founder is a pharmacist actually. I have not tried out their make up range but it’s my go to brand for body care – shower gels and body lotions (I like fruity, sweet flowery smells). I am now in love with the pomegranate toner. It’s a fantastic product for my sensitive skin. I can also recommend their facial masks – if you like something not too heavy. Also – their lip butter!!

Thank you Eleni! I think i just have access to quite a bit more brands out here in Singapore 😉 Ooohhh thanks for the recommendations!! I’ll keep them in my phone the next time I get lured into the store!!

I am using the Biotherm Life Plankton Essence, and I really like it. After a week of using it, I noticed more hydration, and now after a month, my skin looks softer. Of course, there are other potions I’m using, but this is the new one I’m testing. This Chanel one sounds good too, but I need to be more careful with what I spend nowadays. Not an income earner anymore 🙁

  4. I have to yet integrate lotion in my skin care. To try it out, I am bringing something from Haba, let’s see how it works 😉

Apart from loads of samples (love the lady at my local counter) I haven’t really tried the skin care. This sounds really interesting. Is it kind of like sk treatment essence?

    • silverkis says:

it is somewhere between the facial treatment lotion and essence (in SK-II terms). It would most probably be closest to the Cellumination Mask-in Lotion which I love! Have a go, and let me know!
