Lipsticks are always fun to review, who doesn’t like breaking into a brand new bullet? For me, the verdict is usually quite binary, I almost always love or hate a new lip formula at first swipe. With the new Chanel Rouge Coco Flash, it is even more enjoyable…
Chanel’s latest Rouge Coco Flash is everything a woman can ask for, a vibrant colour payoff combined with beautiful shine and ultimate comfort. Formulated with a blend of nourishing oils – jojoba, mimosa and sunflower, these lipsticks immediately smooth and hydrate lips upon application up til 8 hours. For all its richness, the Rouge Coco Flash is airy light and comfortable.
The classic Chanel Rouge Coco casing has been updated with a transparent cover which is not only chic with its multi-faceted prism of light, but also practical. With 27 gorgeous colours to choose from, these transparent covers make it easy to see the nature of the shade housed within.
On the arm, the lipsticks swatch with a touch of sheerness but on the lips it is possible to achieve full opacity with multiple swipes. The shine stays true, and even builds up. The 27 shades cover a broad range of nudes, oranges, pinks, plums, etc. I have 9 and have swatched them on my lips for your reference:
As you can see, I had so much fun with these Chanel Rouge Coco Flash lipsticks that I decided to do full makeup looks instead of the usual lip-only blocks. It is not often the case that lipsticks achieve consistent quality across shades, so I was really impressed that all the 9 shades I tested were equally superior. Every one applied buttery smooth, were light and comfortable to wear, and provided beautiful colour. The Rouge Coco Flash does contain some slip, so it wears off with eating and drinking, but it does not smudge nor fade when left untouched.
Chanel Rouge Coco Flash is out in stores now. My favorite is 66 Pulse, and I’ve been wearing 91 Boheme on a daily basis. Have you tried these yet?
