Chanel does not turn out new products very often, so when something new comes along, it is quite exciting indeed. And now it seems, Chanel is also getting on the matte liquid lip trend, with the new Chanel Rouge Allure Ink!
I was rather excited when I first heard of these Chanel Rouge Allure Ink because I had quite enjoyed the Rouge Double Intensite [reviewed here] when it was available for a limited time during last Holiday 2015. However, that older formula had some issues and was inconsistent across shades. Of course, things can only get better, and so indeed it is! Chanel Rouge Allure Ink are as comfortable and easy on the lips as any matte liquid lipstick can ever hope to be! And it does that with a thin, fluid texture that hugs the curves of the lips so well it looks as if it has been tattooed on.
The sleek glass bottles are so inconspicuous they fit inside the tiniest purse, and a simple flattened paddle brush applicator pulls out the right amount of product each time to complete the entire lips without having to re-dip. I had a little bit of trouble getting close to the edge of my lips with this applicator for some reason… somehow I tend to just slip a bit on one side and end up with uneven lips. So I switch out to a lip brush to get precise edges.
There are 8 shades in the range, all of which are permanent, and I have 4 of them to show you today. Here are the swatches:
As you can see, the shades that I have are all really bold, punchy colors. From left to right:
I was surprised by how similar in intensity all 4 are, although on hindsight I think I picked the middle shades in the range, leaving out the lightest and deepest hues. I will update here accordingly if I get a chance to swatch the others when the range launches in stores.
Here is a full makeup look featuring 146 Seduisant:
These Chanel Rouge Allure Ink are quite different from any of the other matte liquid lip products that I’ve tried so far, most notably because of how thin and light the formula is. In reality, they feel more like lip lacquers or lip stains, but with an unparalleled opacity and intensity of color. This is all thanks to a careful blend of polymers, waxes and vegetal oils that glide on and mould to the lip contours, and prevents the lips from drying out. A single swipe is all that is needed for full coverage, and it does not leave behind bare streaks where the lip creases.
Makeup look featuring Chanel Rouge Allure Ink 148 Libere
Upon initial application, Chanel Rouge Allure Ink stays slightly wet and has a luminous shine for about 10 minutes. But it gradually dries down and sets, and remains fairly budge-proof from that point onwards. Even with sips of coffee and something to eat, the Chanel Rouge Allure Ink stays mostly intact, and only the very inner center part of my lips are worn off. If left untouched, it stays in place all day long!
Makeup look featuring Chanel Rouge Allure Ink 150 Luxuriant
What I really like about these Chanel Rouge Allure Ink is that they feel like my lips… none of that caked over, completely flattened look. On the flip side, these do get worn off with eating and drinking, although they are fairly resistant as it is, just not bulletproof like the previous Rouge Double Intensite. But I will choose the higher level of comfort and lip-protection anytime!
Chanel Rouge Allure Ink will be available in Singapore from September, and priced at SGD49 each.

I’m close to getting rid of all my liquid lipsticks now. It’s always in my head that they go bad much faster, and as you know, both you and I have a hard time going through any of them. LOL! That said, I love shade number 150 on you. It’s very brightening and sexy at the same time 🙂
I know what you mean about liquid makeup… but these are really quite beautiful. I wear them lightly blotted down as a stain now… big love!
Oh my, these look so beautiful. I’m really into liquid lipsticks lately. Definitely going to get me some when they come out.
yes I know these are right up your alley! Can’t wait to see what you end up with!
Oh wow these are sooo beautiful! I can’t wait until they are available here!!

So many of the same yet all so beautiful! 😉
Oh my gosh ! I want Luxuriant 😍 Thanks a lot for the swatches, you know how much I love Chanel 😘
yes fellow Chanel lover! :*
These are gorgeous!!! I love them all. And I certainly don’t need to see the nudes. Sabrina will do those anyway at some point. It’s hard to narrow them down. Seduisant and Luxuriant are probably my favorites.
Hahaha Alison you’re so funny!! I was surprised by how similar they swatched… and I had to blink hard to see the difference. But when worn with the rest of my makeup, I can definitely see them. Those 2 are prob my personal faves too!
