Chanel has been hitting all the right notes with me lately (well not errrthang thank goodness, but enough to startle), and their latest Rouge Allure Glosses are no exception.
Designed for the lady who loves a good lipstick, Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss combines the color intensity of traditional lipsticks with the glossy shine of glosses. It has a smooth lip-hugging gel-like texture that does not feather or smudge easily. The formula is rich in vitamin E, sappan wood and green tea butter to moisturize and smoothen the lips.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss is housed in a sleek glossy black square tube that reveals the golden wand from the top when clicked like a pen. The mechanism is the same concept as the Rouge Allure and Rouge Allure Velvet lipsticks, and incredibly chic. No more twisting and turning and smudging gloss all around the sides… because I am that much of a klutz and because I am always trying to juggle a million things in my arms!
The sponge-applicator is dipped on both sides and is a breeze to use. But apart from that, it looks unremarkable, no bells and whistles nor fancy shapes that serves no purpose. This is classic Chanel.
It seems that different markets received different shades, but here in Singapore, we have shades 11 to 19. And here are the swatches:
These Chanel Rouge Allure Glosses are non-sticky, and sit comfortably on the lips without smearing or falling in between lines. They have impressive wear time (for glosses) of about 3-4 hours despite my constant sipping. The best thing I’ve noticed is they do not leave a crazy stain behind with each tiny sip. Of course, they still stain, they are after all glosses, but very lightly. For someone who abhors lip glosses in general, the Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss is my favorite yet!
I was invited for a quick makeover at Chanel during the launch of the Rouge Allure Gloss recently, and this is how it all looked under the masterful hands of the senior makeup artist at the Ion Boutique.
