Have you enjoyed my top picks from the Chanel Neapolis Collection so far? I’m really embracing the unseasonably vibrant hues that Chanel has in store for us this Spring-Summer 2018, even the Naples inspiration speaks more to summer vacation than blooming spring; but this break from tradition makes it all the more intriguing and fun! In case the large 9-shade palette [see here] and those lip pigments [here] fail to captivate your imagination, here are swatches of the rest of the collection for your viewing pleasure.
For the eyes, the one shade that will capture the essence of the collection, is distilled in a single Chanel Ombre Premiere Creme in Verderame. This is a medium-dark greyish-green with a hint of silvery micro-shimmers. Use this alone for a faint wash of color, or build up the smokiness with a darkening base, it is a beautiful shade that cannot be missed.
As always, there are a couple of limited edition Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Mare-Chiaro and Nero Vulcanico. Mare-Chiaro is a bright jade green with a touch of golden micro-shimmers; and Nero Vulcanico is a creamy black. To top it off, there is a new Dimensions de Chanel in Nero Metallo, a deep metallic blue that is almost black.
And here are the swatches for your reference:
The cheeks are flushed in a lovely shade of pink that is typical for spring, but Chanel masters the art of blushing with the limited edition Joues Contraste in Foschia Rosa. It is a pretty neutral-toned pink that is just that hint of peach to neutralize strong blue tones, and flatter any skin tone beautifully.
I strongly believe everyone need to at least give the Poudre a Levres [reviewed here] a try, but just in case you prefer a more traditional tube for easy portability, there are a lot to shop from.
There are 2 Rouge Allure Velvet in L’Aristocatica and L’Indomabile, and 2 Rouge Allure in Vibrante and Incantevole. All except Incatevole will be available permanently. Swatches follow below:
For a sheerer and more emollient touch for the lips, there are 4 new Rouge Coco Glosses to play around with. There are even 2 Rouge Allure Ink to bridge the divide between liquid and color.
The blue Rouge Coco Gloss 792 Aphrodite is worth looking into as it is one of those lip products that are designed to be layered with other lip colors that has been very popular of late. The blue hue cools down the tone of any existing lip colors, making it a versatile piece in any lip wardrobe.
As mentioned in my previous post, here is a full makeup look featuring Ombre Premiere Creme Verderame on the eyes, blended out with the smokey grey shade in Affresco and lined with Nero Vulcanico. Lashes are completed with Nero Metallo. Cheeks feature Foschia Rosa, and lips are done with Rosso Parthenope.
What have you picked up from Chanel Neapolis Collection?
This post featured products that were generously provided for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
I found the lip powders drying when I tried them at the counter. But I must admit that I’ve gone hook, line, and sinker for this collection, finally “getting it” about Lucia Pica’s nuanced color aesthetic. She somehow manages to do traditionally warm colors in a neutral way and make them so wearable, opening up a whole new palette beyond my usual cool shades. Count me a fan!
Hi Linda, everything looks so exciting they’ve definitely outdone themselves on this collection. I wanted to know if the mascara wears as well as the le volume mascara as it looks quite tempting. I’m getting the gloss in Aphrodite and maybe I’ll try the lip powders, do those have a decent wear time? Thanks much!
Hi sorry for my late reply. I’ve not tried this particular shade, but in general I’m quite a fan of the Dimensions de Chanel mascara. The lip powders have amazing wear time! Hope you get to try them out soon.
No worries at all, that’s good to know about the lip powders..thanks so much again 🙂
