Chanel Les Beiges Le Vernis Beige Rose & Precious Beige

June 8, 2015

After a very boldly colored collection of 4 nail polishes for Summer 2015, Chanel has also prepared a separate set of 4 nude Le Vernis for its Les Beiges Collection.  The release consists of 1 pale pink and 3 varying shades of beige.  I have 655 Beige Rose and 661 Precious Beige, and would like to show them to you today.

Chanel Les Beiges Le Vernis Beige Rose

Chanel Le Vernis 655 Beige Rose is a pale milky ballet pink that has a cream finish.  As is expected with a shade this light, it takes a generous 2 coats to be completely opaque.  However, it is nicely self-leveling, and does not leave streaks once it is dried.

I was initially worried that Beige Rose would be too pale against my skin tone as some such pinks turn white-ish or make my fingers look washed out.  So I was actually very pleasantly surprised to find how beautiful it looks when applied.  This is possibly the lightest shade of pink that I can wear nicely, and it looks effortlessly elegant.  What I loved was that it covered my nail perfectly without any patchy sheerness.

Chanel Le Vernis 661 Precious Beige

Chanel Le Vernis 661 Precious Beige is a light-medium beige with Chanel’s signature hidden shimmer.  The shimmer is usually mostly invisible, but given the lightness of this color, it is actually quite visible under direct sunlight, which makes Precious Beige so much more delectable.

Precious Beige is a little sheerer than Beige Rose, and took me 3 coats to achieve full opacity.  And it definitely requires a clear gel coat to look good.  However, I’m actually very much in love with the end result, as it looks incredibly chic, very much my-nails-but-better.

Both Precious Beige and Beige Rose are limited edition, and are part of the Les Beiges de Chanel collection for Summer 2015.  They may not be particularly unique colors, but certainly must-haves for those who are looking for effortless chic nude nails.

Hi Linda, they both look nice on you! I love Rose Beige, think it will look nice on my darker skin in the summer as well. I read you use the Dior top coat – me too! It makes the worst nail varnishes last forever and it’s so shiny! Loving it, I’m on bottle no2! 🙂

Yay!!! I’m on my 3rd bottle of Dior top coat!!! Somehow it dries up and gets very gnarly about halfway through… no matter how many drops of thinner I put in there, doesn’t work. I’ve been told it’s because I apply the brush over my polish before they’re completely dry… but seriously, who can wait 2 hours before applying a top coat?? Do you have the same experience too?

Such a bizarre thing to say to the customer! Of course I can’t wait for ages for the nail varnish to completely dry to wear a top coat! Mmmm, I don’t have exactly the same experience, at least not to the same extent. Mine got a bit thicker but that’s all. The worst experience I have had with gel top coats was with Guerlain gel, which I had to throw after a few uses, since it got very dry and impossible work with.

Oh hmm… i had the Guerlain gel coat before, although I cant remember now if I had the same problem with it. Guerlain comes in bigger bottles though, so I wouldn’t be surprised it dried out on its own before I got to the end.

  2. Oh this is interesting, because Precious Beige pulls so much pinker on me! With some luck my swatches will be up tomorrow then you can see for yourself 🙂

  3. Hi Linda, both look lovely on you.
I don’t need more than 2 coats for Precious Beige but I apply rather thick coats I guess. I was wondering, which top coat you use, they look so nice and glossy :-))

Hi Sara, I’m using the Dior Gel Top Coat! It’s one of my favorites as it lasts and it definitely looks impossibly glossy. The only problem is, by the time I’m halfway through a bottle, it gets very thick and sticky.
