Chanel Le Vernis Vibrato & Fortissimo Plays the Blue Rhythm
It may not seem that way from this blog, and I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it, but my favourite color is blue! I know I have waxed lyrical about purple so much that people often mistake that as a top choice, but when Chanel released an entire makeup collection dedicated to playing the blues, I knew I had to have it! Today, I’d like to show you the 2 new blue nail polishes from the Blue Rhythm de Chanel Collection!
Chanel Le Vernis Vibrato (665) is a medium-dark vivid blue. It has a cream finish and is one of a few rare shades from the Chanel arsenal that does not contain any hidden shimmers.
The swatch shown above is 2 coats without any top coat
It is nicely opaque in 2 coats, and has a glossy finish as shown in the swatch above which is taken without a top coat. I had initially hesitated about this purchase, but once I swatched it, I fell in love! It has the magical ability to make my hands look fairer and more delicate.
Chanel Le Vernis Fortissimo (681) is a dark midnight blue with light blue micro shimmers. I had initially thought it would be a metallic polish, but as it turns out it is a cream.
The swatch shown above is 3 coats with 1 clear gel top coat
Fortissimo is slightly thin in terms of formula and I needed 3 coats to get it perfectly opaque and smooth. However, once it did, Fortissimo is heart-stompingly beautiful with its shimmery complexity. Due to the darkness of the color, the shimmers only show up under direct sunlight.
Fortissimo is new and limited edition, so be sure to catch it before it disappears!

Hey Linda, ha it’s true that I wouldn’t have guessed your favorite color is blue! I like both of these but don’t think the collection is available here. I think Dior Sailor is reasonably similar to Vibrato tho. Perhaps I don’t need both 😉
Yes, Sailor came to mind right away, but i didn’t have time to do a comparison. From my initial sense though, Sailor is just a tad lighter than Vibrato.
I’m a little disappointed that vibrato is not as bright as I had thought it to be initially… But quick question… You only mentioned that Fortissimo is limited edition does that mean that vibrato is not? Please let me know, and thank you!
Hi Judy, yes Vibrato will be joining the permanent collection. 🙂 I agree, I thought it would be brighter, but interestingly, this actually works better against my skin tone.
