Happy Mani-Monday folks! I’m very excited to be able to give you an early preview of the upcoming Chanel Summer 2015 Mediterranee Collection this week! There are 4 nail polishes in the collection, all new but only 1 limited edition! Today, I’ll start with my personal top pick, and the limited edition piece from the collection – Chanel Le Vernis (697) Terrana!
Chanel Le Vernis (697) Terrana is a medium-dark metallic plum-brown with silvery micro-shimmers. In the bottle, it almost has a duochrome cast to it, but I was glad that it doesn’t apply that way.
The formula is slightly thin, although it does cover my nail completely in 2 coats. However, to achieve true-to-bottle intensity, you may need to apply thicker layers or 3 coats. On my nails, Terrana pulls slightly reddened, and under bright sunlight it almost resembles a russet brown.
The only thing I would say about Terrana though, is that the brush strokes do show up no matter how expertly you apply it. Thankfully the shimmers do a nice job of distracting, although it really would have been perfect if the are no traces of brush strokes at all. Terrana is one of those shades that are so classy and easy to wear. Not too brown nor too warm, a nice change from the bold hues this season. What is even better for me, is this one lasted me 4 entire days without even a hint of wear at the tips (unheard of!)! Which is why the next shade in the collection has to be delayed til next week because I never got a chance to wearing that one, and I always wear my polishes to their maximum duration so as to give you the most real life report I can!
Chanel Summer 2015 Collection Mediterranee will launch in Singapore on 5 June. Reviews on other pieces of the collection will be coming up over the next few days! Have you got your eyes on anything already and would like to see first?
This post featured a product that was kindly sent to me by Chanel Singapore for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
Love Terrana so much, such a complex shade, without being too dark etc. I didn’t have many brush strokes. Probably with metallics, it never goes so smooth so I was not expecting 0 brush strokes and could live with a little.
Hahaa… expectations are so high these days, Sara!!! But yes, the color is spectacular, and for that, i’m willing to live with the brush strokes.
This is the one shade I don’t have from the collection and I really love the color, but I’m not sure about the brush strokes. They are not very obvious, but they are there. It’s a pity. I might still get it because I really love the color and the shimmer, but it’d be 10/10 if it didn’t have this issue!
Yes it really would be 100% perfect without the visible strokes!!!!
If you can see the brush strokes even with careful application, then it’s really hopeless for me. I need fool proof nail colours because I’m really that bad at it. HAHAH!
yeah it’s a shame…. but it’s not so bad really, the shimmers cover up most of it!
That is indeed a gorgeous colour and one I would absolutely wear
yes it’s so nice!!!
This colour is everything!!!! So beautiful xx
