For Summer 2015, Chanel’s Mediterranee Collection consists of 4 nail polishes. There is 1 limited edition shimmery shade which I already showed you last week (here), and 3 brightly colored cream shades. Today, I’m excited to be able bring you a close look at Chanel Le Vernis #727 Lavanda!
I have been wanting a purple cream nail polish shade for a very long time, and trust me when I tell you purple nail polishes are rare. Sure there are lavenders, lilacs and burgundy, plum shades aplenty; but a true purple in a non-metallic finish is hard to come by. And for a purple lover, Chanel Le Vernis Lavanda (727) is a dream come true.
Lavanda is a royal purple that has just a tinge of red in the base instead of blue. It is medium dark, and delivers bold intense color without any shimmers. The finish is a glossy cream as you can see from the swatch below.
The swatch above is 2 thin coats of Lavanda without any top coat. It felt slightly thin at first swatch, so I applied thicker coats than I normally do and was able to achieve full opacity in 2 coats. I love that Lavanda is self-leveling, even though my first coat felt somewhat streaky, by the 2nd, the polish just miraculously evened itself out. The finished effect is quite glossy, but of course a separate gel top coat would really amp up the luxe factor even more.
Similar to Terrana [reviewed here], Lavanda lasted me 3-4 days before showing signs of wear at the tip, and with just simple touch-ups at home, I was able to make this one last me a full week! If you are the sort who likes your makeup to match up, or if you (like me) can’t get enough of a good purple, you’d be happy to know that Lavanda is a match for Chanel’s Stylo Eyeshadow in Campanule (reviewed here)! If you are interested in the rest of the line-up and for some comparison swatches, please feel free to hop on over here and here.
This post featured a product that was sent to me by Chanel Singapore for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
Oh I saw this on Sara’s Instagram and thought what a gorgeous shade! Good to know it lasts too. These darker shades are right up my alley 🙂
After awhile nail polishes all start looking the same…. so i’m glad Chanel suddenly brought out something different!
This shade is gorgeous! I don’t often buy polishes as I usually get regular manis, I really only paint my toes. But I think if I come across this in store it will be coming home with me.

I get regular manis too, but ever since I started collecting my own nail polishes, I’d bring them to the manicurist!
