Hello!! I just got back late last night from a week-long business trip in Beijing & Hong Kong, and am just feeling overwhelmingly exhausted. Throughout the week was back-to-back meetings and lots of talking, and found my lips new best friend in Chanel Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur!
Chanel had released these jumbo lip crayons earlier this spring in Europe and the US, but they have yet to arrive in Asia. However I managed to pick these up when I was in Amsterdam last January, and have been loving them ever since.
Chanel Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur come in sleek black jumbo pencils and are able to twist both up and down. There are 11 shades available in the US, but only 8 were on display when I was checking them out at de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam, and I picked 2 on a whim. All the shades that I swatched had beautiful pigmentation, and a lovely glossy finish that is akin to the Rouge Coco Stylos (reviewed here). I really love the pencil tipped shape to the bullet as it makes lining and filling in my lips so easy, I can do it even while walking!
The 2 shades I picked are No. 2 Rose Violine and No. 6 Framboise. Both shades go on creamily with lots of slip and actually feel very comforting on my lips. Given the highly emollient texture, they do transfer with drinking and eating. However, I found the colors surprisingly long-lasting, and even leave behind a stain. Unlike other long-wearing lip colors, I did not find these to dry my lips out, even with 5 full days of consecutive wear!
Chanel Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur No. 2 Rose Violine is a beautiful neutral rosewood that goes perfectly with anything I wear, and has become my HG everyday staple. It was on constant repeat throughout the past week, and I love it even more now than ever. It has enough color that I don’t look washed out with lack of sleep or a lighter eye makeup, and yet it is sufficiently neutral to still pair well with a more dramatic eye look.
Chanel Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur No. 6 Framboise is a bright poppy fuchsia that has enough red in it not to turn too purple. It is incredibly pigmented and bold, and I was surprised by how easily I was able to achieve full opacity and cover up all those lip lines without multiple swipes. The bold color instantly brightens up my complexion and wakens up my features.
I can’t wait for these to finally launch here in Singapore so I can pick up more! Have you tried any of these Chanel Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayons?
I’m regretting now buying Rose Violine now. I just kept putting things in my cart today while shopping on line and I had 3 of these new lip crayons in there. Rose Violine being one of them. I also had Nude and Beige Rose. I’m obsessing over the entire Cruise Collection. The nail polish shades? OMG! And the Sheer Glow Color Sticks? OMG. I need everything and every weekend I’m buying so much stuff I have no where to put it. I bought the Elegance blush today and a new brush and something else. I don’t even know now because I moved so much stuff in and out of the cart, it’s ridiculous. I spent like HOURS on line. Story of my life – Beauty addict
Hahaha…. I can completely identify with your story, Janine!! I do highly recommend Rose Violine though, be sure to try it out next time you’re near a Chanel counter!
Oh Rose Violine is definitely something that’ll go with everything! Will have to wait for these to launch here to check them out.
Yes, i wish they’d launch sooner!! Rose Violine is on repeat constantly now.
I managed to resist those! Not easy, as they’re great, but sensible at the time!
