Chanel really blew me away with its Le Blanc Collection this year… I had reviewed the color makeup pieces before, and today I would like to show you the other key item from the collection that you should not miss.
Chanel Le Blanc Whitening Compact Foundation is part of the brand’s permanent makeup range, and is specially designed with the Asian complexion in mind. This year, Chanel has reformulated it to help skin maintain an even and luminous tone throughout the day in spite of climate swings, which is especially applicable for us living in the tropics going alternately from air-conditioned interiors to the blazing hot outdoors throughout the day. This is due to a new Smart Thermal Complex, that forms a thermal buffer to protect the skin surface and delay the effects of temperature variations. The foundation is also formulated with SPF25 / PA+++ to protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
When you open up the chic white case, lying right on top is a square sponge on a plastic removable tray, below which sits the compact foundation. The sponge is dual-sided, one side is flocked and velvety, whilst the other is the standard smooth sponge. The velvety side provides lighter coverage and is great for touching up and smoothening out the foundation. If you need more coverage, the other smooth sponge side picks up and deposits more foundation.

Chanel Le Blanc Whitening Compact Foundation is smooth as silk to the touch, and so fine it is almost like cream. I have not touched any of my powders for a while now because my skin had gotten so dry, most powders just exacerbate the problem. The good news is that this Chanel Le Blanc Whitening Compact Foundation is fairly lightweight, especially if you just dab it on using the velvet side of the sponge. Alternatively, use an airy powder brush and swirl the powder on the face. In the half-faced comparison above, I had first applied a thin layer of this tinted moisturizer as a base before applying Chanel Le Blanc Whitening Compact Foundation on half my face. If you clicked to zoom in, you would be able to see there is absolutely no sign of powder at all. The natural glow of my skin remains even after application, and also throughout the day without turning to grease. Instead, my pores are minimized, and there is slight improvement to the look of my dark circles.
On my dry skin, Chanel Le Blanc Whitening Compact Foundation lasts throughout the day without need for touch-ups, but I think those with combination to oily skin will see some shine by mid-day. At the same time, the powder does not dry up my skin at all, and it really feels very comfortable and natural even at the end of a long day.

I think this one is available online in the US! Not sure about Europe though…..
Linda, how do you feel this compares with the Shu Aerial powder? Is it just as lightweight and brightening?
Hi Christina, i think this is even lighter and finer than the Shu Aerial powder… but less coverage though…. it depends what you are looking for.
I’m just looking for something that isn’t so drying on my face. The Aerial powder is pretty nice because it’s not flat like most foundation powders on me are, so if this gives a similar brightening/radiant effect, I’ll check it out (if it makes it to the U.S., that is). I use these powders to touch up my face mid day, so high coverage isn’t necessary! Thanks for the reply!
Yes I understand perfectly, that’s how i use my powders generally too. This one is definitely not flat. 😉
Such a stunning cover! Love all those cute little Chanel pieces you have. Powder too sounds wonderful! xx

Hehehe…. i realize i’ve been collecting lots of these chanel trinkets over the years! Those tiny miniature perfumes…. i cant bear to use them!
This is a good powder… but difficult for me to find a good shade match. Even their beige looks pink on me. Darn it!
Oh yes,,,, it’s the “brightening” stuff……..
