I am finally concluding my coverage of skin hydrating products! Today’s post is a sort of psychological wrapper for me because it features the earliest product that I acquired before making up my mind to create a series, and the most recent acquisition which is technically not marketed for dry skin but works like a charm. This pairing works best for those of you who have acne-prone skin like me, but whose skin is also dehydrated and hence cannot accommodate overly stripping products. The balance is delicate, and Tatcha does it so elegantly with its The Deep Cleanse and Water Cream.

Happy hump-day! This supposed mini-series on hydrating skincare seems to be taking forever to complete… I started this series 2 weeks ago [here] with the intention of wrapping it up within a week, but work and life got in the way. There are just a couple more to go, and today I’d like to introduce a trio poetically named – Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Collection.

I was hoping to be able to wrap up my mini-series covering all the hydration heroes last week , but work and travels got in the way. Since taking on my current job (about 1.5 years ago), I’ve had to take on more travels, and even without mentioning how stressful air travel can be on the skin, varying bath water quality, irregular sleeping and eating patterns all take their toll. And as I am turning 40 next year, I have learnt to appreciate the importance of hydration even more. The range that I’ve fallen more and more in love with over the years, is Chanel’s Hydra Beauty. I had test driven it at the onset of this blog, and then as my skin got drier the Micro Serum became an integral part of my personal lineup. Now, the line has expanded and the formulation is better honed, so there is a Hydra Beauty specialist to fit into any regime and address your skincare needs.

It is Day 2 of our quest to jumpstart our skincare routine this Spring! Hope you enjoyed yesterday’s hydrating duo, and today I’ve got a power pair from Korean brand Su:m37˚. Pronounced as soom, Su:m37˚ means “breath” in Korean and is a premium line that uses naturally fermented ingredients in their skincare products. Everything is formulated with a proprietary essence called Cytosis®, which is derived from 80 types of natural plants that are gathered and fermented in cedar barrels for 365 days, under stringent conditions at a temperature of 37˚C. I have been hooked on their skincare ever since the brand was launched in Singapore last year, and even more so now with the new Su:m37˚ Water-full Radiant range.

When I was younger, I never appreciated hydration skincare lines, assuming they were basic and unnecessary. Fast forward a decade, hydration has become my skin’s best friend. I consider it an essential building block of a good skincare routine, over which I can layer on other special needs items at will. And this Spring, there are several new releases that I am currently loving. Instead of skimping over each of them, I have decided to publish a mini-series of hydration specialists over the course of the next few days. For today, I would like to introduce you to the new Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum and Cooling Gel Cream.

Luxurious anti-aging skincare is one of my favourite things in beauty, and was what spurred me to start blogging years ago. There are lots of brands out there that position themselves as the purveyors of the finest, and there are brands that just do extremely well across the grain. Estée Lauder often gets overlooked precisely because it seems so mainstream, but I was recently blown by how amazing and luxurious their top-of-the-line offerings can be. Inspired by the magic and power of nature’s dew, and harnessing the powers of exotic florals, Estée Lauder presents us with the Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Collection.
