It is the season for holiday collections, and I have lots to share with you. But ever since I started at my new firm, the days are passing in a blur, and by the time I get home at night, I just pass out. So, with a pipeline of goodies and limited bandwidth to express myself out here, the usual first in first out policy takes a back seat against prioritizing limited editions. But even in spite of it all, what I have been burning to share with you, is something that I’ve been absolutely loving to bits lately…. the new La Mer Skincolor Collection!

Beauty you’re It! IT Cosmetics has earned a cult-like following in the US over the past few years; and with the aim of helping women with rosacea and other skin problems achieve beautiful, healthy skin… IT Cosmetics seems like the perfect soulmate for me. When I heard that IT Cosmetics will be launching at Sephora internationally, I knew this brand was going to fly, and if you hadn’t already picked some up for yourself, here is a quick run-down of some of their top sellers!

Hello dear friends! I took a short trip to visit my sister and nephew in Germany over the weekend, which is kind of a crazy thing to do considering the trip took me halfway around the world and back in just a matter of days. But there is a higher purpose to everything, and it was one of my best experiences I have with them. I hope you got the chance to check out some of my video snaps on my Instastory, if not, you should definitely follow me on Instagram to be notified in future #shamelessplug!
For now, I would like to turn your attention to a couple of new releases from Shu Uemura!

Dior surprised me this year by turning out a collection inspired by milky polka dots… judging from the colors, there is a sort of 70’s retro flare to the inspiration, which is a rather strange direction to go for a summer collection. I wished they had taken the prints all the way, print them all over the cases and emboss them on the surface of the powders! That would have made the entire collection more memorable, but as it is, the entire collection from the 2 eyeshadow quints down to the bronzers look very reminiscent of the last 2 summers. I really wasn’t planning on picking anything up at all, but then I saw Lily’s post and was immediately sold on the Diorskin Nude Air Glow Powder! And as I was in the boutique already, I picked up 1 of the Polka Dots Colour & Dots Manicure Kits out of curiosity, and spied the Diorblush Sculpt in stock at last and picked 1 up as well. Since I have just a random selection of things, this is not really a typical Summer 2016 collection review, but a bit of a shopping haul post for a change!

How was your weekend? I didn’t want to get into the full story of how my Mothers’ Day celebration went a week ago, because I needed to give it some space. For me, Mothers’ Day has always been jinxed, my hubby has managed to create dramatic nightmares every single year. And this year topped the cake. He drove my car into a stationary car at a slip-off road, by which I don’t mean an “accident” in the sense that he didn’t stop in time nor that the other car jam-braked in front of him, but that he was accelerating full-speed and crashed because he simply was not looking ahead. My Mothers’ Day was pretty much spent looking up my insurance coverage, negotiating with the other car’s owner, and just being generally pissed off. All that meant that I could not focus on taking any pretty pictures for my social media accounts, and have been running on fumes the entire past week. I was determined to get some things done these past couple of days, but I am just exhausted – life!
I am eternally thankful for a number of things – (a) even though both cars were filled with family members, nobody was injured (and I will always insist my little one remains fully strapped down in his car seat!); (b) Volkswagens are indeed engineered for safety; (c) I have pretty things to cheer me up!! The best is when those aforementioned pretty things also make life a bit simpler and better, and today I would like to show you 3 new makeup bases from Albion!

Guerlain Meteorites Base was one of the first makeup primers that I used diligently and actually finished up. At the very beginning of this blog, I had written about the challenges I faced in finding the perfect primer [read “Battle of the Primers” here], and I never got around to writing the part 2 of that series because I had settled down nicely with Guerlain Meteorites Base shortly after. In fact, there has been a post kicking around at the back of my head and on my pipeline for the past year or so, discussing the various wonderful bases that Guerlain has to offer. But time has gotten the better of me, and now that Guerlain has released a new formula, it seems appropriate to finally give this wonderful product a proper introduction. I also got to try out the new Blanc de Perle Compact Foundation, which is always a joy, because as you all know, I have an extreme fondness for Guerlain powders.
