Ending the week on a joyous note today…. it has been a long and tiring one, and perfectly encapsulates my year so far. Some seeds are sowed, all that’s left is a prayer and a burst of fresh breeze….
Most of the time I find Anna Sui’s fragrances to be too sweet for my tastes, but the new Anna Sui Lucky Wish is so filled with joy and warmth that I find it completely irresistible!
“Close your eyes, make a wish, spray the fragrance and feel transported to a happy place.”
Part of the charm of owning a piece of Anna Sui always lies in the whimsical packaging. Lucky Wish is no different, and in fact I really adore the unique tri-faceted rounded bottle with the pretty lilac juice contained within. Golden birds take flight around the exterior, and the shape of the bottle gives a dimensional view that sends me soaring.
Perched prettily at the top of the bottle is a delicate fairy in a contemplative pose. Oh hey love, what ails you so bad that a little spritz of fairy juice can’t fix?
Anna Sui Lucky Wish starts out with an aromatic burst of tangerine and pomelo. It feels light and airy, and quite youthful to be honest. But the initial opening quickly gives way to a feminine heart floral heart of peony and orchid. This is rather different from the usual rose scent that Anna Sui is so well known for, but that is what makes it so alluring to me. The base is a creamy blend of fresh musk, sandalwood and amber… tuned to lie quietly in the background, yet still there to give body to the fragrance. On me, Anna Sui Lucky Wish has moderate sillage, and lasts a good 6-8 hours before fading away.
And before I go, here’s a little Daughtry that’s been playing in a loop all day:
Have a magical weekend!
