I hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful long Easter weekend! A part of me wished I had planned better and arranged for a short vacation for my family, but the thought of all the logistics involved in taking a trip tires me more than anything else. In case you are in a similar situation and feeling a little left out, here are a couple of suggestions to enjoy a luxurious pampering session right here in Singapore!
Living in an island country has its perks, and we often overlook the world-class resorts that we have right at our doorstep. Ritz-Carlton Singapore recently revamped its spa, and has completed redesigned its interiors with the calming sea as its inspiration.
For a hotel spa located right in the heart of the city, the Ritz-Carlton Spa Singapore has managed to cleverly incorporate all the wonderful accoutrements of a luxury spa. From steam sauna to heated jacuzzis, everything is brand new and immaculately furnished.
Ritz-Carlton Spa Singapore is the first hotel spa in the Asia-Pacific region to partner with La Mer, and I highly recommend checking out The La Mer Custom Facial, which uses a vial of pure Miracle Broth in addition to a selection of La Mer products to suit individual’s needs. Each step of the decadent facial is accompanied by customised massage techniques to ensure optimal absorption of the products.
Apart from the facial, I also strongly recommend trying out one of the excellent body massages that Ritz-Carlton Spa Singapore offers. In particular, their Hot Lapis Stone Massage truly stands out as a unique treatment – several semi-precious lapis lazuli stones are heated and placed on major nodes to soothe aching muscles and promote deep relaxation. These stones are known to aid balanced functioning of the thyroid gland, strengthen neck and vocal chords, and enhance mental function.
Whichever treatment you choose, you are bound to come away feeling lighter, much more relaxed, and happier all around. From now until 28 December 2017, Ritz-Carlton Singapore is offering a promotional “Lapis Lazuli Escape” room package. Priced from SGD 780 for a 2D1N stay, the package includes overnight accommodation in the Elevated Kallang Room inclusive of daily buffet breakfast for two persons, and a 60-minute Hot Lapis Stone Massage for two.
In case you are in need of some me-time after all that tiring shopping and dining (or working), Sulwhasoo’s 2nd boutique located in Ion Orchard is the perfect pit-stop before you head home.
This is full retail store in the front with knowledgeable BAs to advise on the right product for your skin’s needs, and a spacious spa in the back. Each of the rooms are well appointed in the traditional Korean aesthetic, and even includes a vanity area where you can touch up with Sulwhasoo cushions and lip balms after your treatment.
Each treatment begins with a warm ginseng foot bath fit for royalty. This not only relieves fatigued feet, but also helps to unwind and relax the mind and body before your treatment. Next, you get to choose an essential oil for light inhalation according to your mood, which further enhances the state of overall well-being. Then, as the facial commences, the therapist will use a selection of traditional massage tools to aid the penetration of the products applied.
In spite of myself, I found myself dozing off under the gentle touch of the therapist, especially on the comfortable bed and spacious environment. Unlike so many beauty salons in crowded shopping malls, this Sulwhasoo Beauty Lounge is perfectly sound-proofed, and I can completely immerse myself in the peace and serenity of my treatment session.
What are you up to this weekend?
